Training camp in Prague
In the last week of July (24th - 30th July), the biggest training camp of the Women in Canoe Sport project took place in Troja, Prague. On Monday afternoon, 16 girls (8 from the Czech Republic, 7 from Slovakia, 1 from Spain) and 6 members of the implementation team (coaches and assistants from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Great Britain and Canada) met in the boathouse of the Faculty of Physical Education of Sport (FTVS). The project has attracted international attention, thanks to which the girls were coached also by David Paterson, a British national team athlete who is only 23 years old, and Jaylene Pratt, a Canadian PhD student and enthusiastic canoeist. Both brought new perspectives to the project and the girls especially appreciated the young kayaker David in his role as coach.
